The Oliver behind Oliver James Coaching, an online coaching company dedicated to shifting people’s attitudes towards fitness and nutrition. My aim is to change lives for the better. 

But let’s skip the story of how I got here. You’re not interested in how many years I’ve trained. You’re not here to pat me on the back for my qualifications. This isn’t really an "About me” page; it’s about you.

You’re here because, in some way or another, you’re frustrated. You’ve admitted defeat and now you are looking for a way to improve your health. 

You’re fed up of scrolling through social media and seeing unattainable bodies, products offering quick fixes, extreme body transformations that don’t look real. You  are smart, and you are skeptical. You know it won’t work for you, but you find yourself scrolling and getting sucked in anyway. 

You’re here because, at the end of the day, you know just as well as I do that clever advertising won’t solve your problem. 

The good news is, working with an online coach who understands you, will.



I've been working in the health and fitness industry under a number of different guises for a long time. I am a personal trainer, a teacher of personal training courses and a strength and conditioning coach, to mention just a few of my different roles. That's the beauty of working in this industry – variety.

However, in my 14 years in health and fitness, I've watched it change into a world full of fake imagery, dishonest beliefs, and unrealistic expectations.

I felt so strongly about people being given false information and false hope, that I felt compelled to come online and provide individuals with the structure, guidance, coaching, and knowledge they need to achieve their goals. 

Ultimately, I'm in the industry to help make your life easier; to watch you evolve as a person and achieve your goals. I never wish for anyone to feel trapped by a diet fad or craze. I don’t want you to be ripped off and sold something that's never going to work.

That's why in 2018, I ventured online and created Oliver James Coaching. I included my name in the title because I want full transparency. You know who I am and who will be coaching you.



Because you could literally be anywhere in the world right now, you probably don't know a thing about me. I'm certainly not well known internationally, as I like to keep out of the limelight and focus on guiding people like you on their health and fitness journey.

I'm a coach with 14 years’ experience in helping people from various backgrounds with a range of goals. I've mainly been based in Manchester and Cheshire, however, I've been lucky enough to work in Spain and America too.

I currently live in Manchester and I have an English springer spaniel called Molly. She will occasionally feature on a coaching call or during a workshop, but she spends most of her time asleep on the sofa.

I play a variety of sports and am currently part of a local football team. I also love a good film. Overall, I'm a pretty normal and welcoming person. I live a life that's balanced, so you don't have to worry about me boasting about my workouts or my super-healthy, nutrient-packed, energizing power lunches. I like to keep my coaching sessions and workshops casual, informative and fun. There's no point in making it feel like school, is there?!



My 14 years’ experience, working with people as young as 5, all the way up to my eldest client of 89, means I have the knowledge and know-how you need. Every one of my clients has come to me with different goals, desires and barriers, and its allowed me to work through every possible scenario. I've hit a total of 18,000 coaching sessions in my career, so you're in safe hands.

In terms of how I can help you specifically, that's simple too. We're a team and together we will work out the best route for you to achieve your health and fitness goals. I will take away the stress and worry and replace it with courage and confidence. You will begin to believe that anything is possible! And I will show you that it is.

It inspires those who need the courage to stand up against adversity. When you have the courage and mental strength of the bear, nothing will get in your way when you begin your health and fitness journey. The bear possesses a sense of self assurance and confidence. With these attributes, your goals can easily be achieved.
